Big project, small scale 2
It’s been a while and I’m still working on carefully building these models for the Future War/War Against the Machines scene I’m attempting to make.
The aerial HK has had the minor updates of some of the lights being completed. I got to this point I took a break from the impending electronics to move on to the tank. It’s way more comfortable building up the plastic bits.
The first thing to notice is that this baby is pretty huge. I had to take this in sections. So the the tank tread chucks first and paint them before I built everything else. It was the way to build out the treads and mask them off when I painted the rest. This baby was a ton of filling and sanding.
It makes me feel good to have it painted. And by the time I got the fenders on. The treads on the kit are a bit tight so I’m a little concerned about them smoothly moving over terrain. I’m going to have to learn a few things to try to maximize it. Also I got skulls. Little 5mm skulls. Check it.
They’re so teeny…
Anyway. I built out the arms and the head of this guy. Again. Filling and sanding.
I’ve done some test lighting and soon I’ll have all the lights wired up and ready to go. It looks good with a little mock up. It makes me ready for the next steps.
